Numbat or Noombat or Walpurti is a small marsupial species native to areas of Australia that is on the verge of extinction. This animal has a long and sticky tongue (about 10-11cm) to catch their prey called termites in the woods. Numbas are not found easily in the country due to habitat loss and believed to be predators with foxes and feral cats. They also have a long pointed snout that can be used to seek for termites in small holes in the earth and wood. Termites are detected by scent and potentially by slight vibrations in the earth. The kids suckling on the mother’s four teats are protected by skinfolds.

The distribution of this species stretches from Japan to the Channel Islands of California, with the Bering Sea hosting the majority of its breeding colonies.

The coat of most puppies is thick, curly, oily, and water-resistant, and it comes in a variety of tints of black, brown, grey, and other colours. These are large dogs (which should come as no surprise), ranging in weight from 70 to 150 pounds, so there’s enough to enjoy. Their strong bodies are clothed with dense fur, giving them the appearance of a large, cuddly, scruffy bear that you can’t resist but cuddle.

They also have the capability to sing at different pitches in a group.
